Solid Waste Holiday collection schedule

Tampa, FL -- The City of Tampa has announced the residential and commercial collection schedule for solid waste customers will not be affected by the Christmas holiday for the week of Dec. 25 - 31.

Both collection services will run as normal. 

The McKay Bay Transfer Station/Scalehouse will not be affected by the Christmas holiday, but will run a modified schedule on Christmas Eve, closing at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24.

Tampa, FL -- The Tampa Water Department has announced that residents will experience a temporary interruption to their reclaimed water service tomorrow morning, Dec. 6.

The City will be performing system maintenance between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. and customers are advised to make the necessary adjustments to their landscape irrigation and other reclaimed water use activities to accomodate the interruption.

County Code Enforcement’s 'Operation Fight The Blight' is big success

Hillsborough County Code Enforcement collected more than 150-cubic yards of trash, debris and junk from the USF area as its 10-day Operation Fight the Blight ended.

Officers filled five dumpsters with trash including 60 cubic yards of tree limbs and branches, which Code Enforcement cut and trimmed, and 90 yards of other accumulated junk.

Hillsborough County, FL -- Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful is still looking for volunteers for one of Tampa's largest annual volunteer events, the 24th Annual Hillsborough River & Waterway Cleanup.

On Nov. 19, after volunteers are sent out to 40 different cleanup sites throughout Hillsborough County, they will enjoy the Rally on the River with live music by Bobby & The Rockets and a free picnic lunch prepared by the Sickles High School Culinary Program.
