Tampa's finest firefighters to cook for familes | Community Spirit
Tampa, Florida-- How would you like to have a hot plate of spaghetti prepared and served by Tampa's firefighters and law enforcement officials? Oh, and not to mention, it will be free!
If that sounds appealing to you, Tampa Fire Rescue invites you to attend their event in New Tampa this evening.
The event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Club Tampa Palms, located at 16402 Tampa Palms Boulevard West.
Tampa Fire Rescue says personnel will whip up dinner for you and your family, and law enforcement personnel will serve it to you, all in an effort to raise awareness of Amendment 9.
According to Tampa Fire, if passed, Amendment 9 will relieve the widower of a firefighter or law enforcement officer who is killed in the line of duty from burden of property taxes for five years.
They say it will greatly assist surviving spouses in continuing to raise their families in the same home, without the worry of losing it due to property taxes.
