Freedom High School athlete receives Vanguard Award | Community Spirit
Tampa, Florida -- Sara Hill, a senior from Freedom High School, was named the Vanguard Award recipient for the month of February.
Vanguard Attorneys created this award program to honor the dedication of local student athletes, coaches and athletic directors.
The law firm credits Hill for not only excelling in athletics but for being active in the community as well. As a team captain, Hill has received the "Most Dedicated Player Award" as well the the "Perfect GPA award" she volunteers at the James A Haley Veteran's Hospital and also takes the time to tutor students.
Hill plans to attend Georgetown University in the fall.
The Freedom High School athletic program was presented with a $1,000 check during the school's Senior Awards Banquet this morning. The firm says the award was presented a little late because the school was busy with the FCAT's when she originally won the award.
Each month, the Vanguard Award selection committee recognizes a new Hillsborough County high school athlete for their contributions in their sport, in the classroom and in the community.
