Preschool presents check to local foundation | Community Spirit

New Port Richey, Florida -- The Little Sunshine Preschool and Learning Center of New Port Richey recently presented a $1,200 check to the Foundation for Early Learning in Pasco and Hernando Counties, Inc.

Funds were raised during the school's first Spring Festival Charity Event on April 7. Fifty businesses sponsored the event where families enjoyed photos with Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, crafts, games and raffles. 

The school also raised money by hosting a school supply drive and a Scholastic Book Fair. According to a release from the Foundation ELC, the book fair raised $300 worth of books for the Foundation.

"This event started with the desire to do something fun for our families, then grew into an exciting opportunity to give back to the community,” Michelle Mariano, Assistant Director and Marketing Director at Little Sunshine Preschool and Learning Center, said in a release. “The amazing work of the Foundation within our community is truly a blessing to all proponents of Early Childhood Education, and we are so proud that they were able to benefit from the event that we created."

The Foundation ELC says the donation will fund initiatives set forth by its volunteer Board of Directors, supporting its mission of promoting the importance of high quality Early Education in our communities.
