Hillsborough: Wanted suspect drags deputy during getaway

Tampa, Florida --  A wanted man dragged a Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputy during his attempt to escape arrest.

The Sheriff's Office says Deputy Byron Beasley performed a routine tag check of a 2005 Ford F150 around 1:15 this morning while on patrol.

The driver pulled into a gas station parking lot at Orient Road and Broadway Avenue as the tag number came back, confirming the vehicle belonged to David Solano, wanted on four outstanding felony warrants.

Bank of America helps those in danger of losing homes

TAMPA, Fl. - Bank of America is giving assistance to those who may be in danger of losing their homes.
 
It's hosting a free, three-day customer outreach event at the Tampa Convention Center. Bank of America has identified more than 30,000 distressed customers within about 120 miles of the Tampa Convention Center and have been contacting them through direct mail, phone calls, emails and reminder text messages, to get their attendance at the event.

Teen escapes from secure treatment facility

New Port Richey, FL -- Pasco Sheriff's detectives are searching for a 18-year-old man who escaped from a secure residential facility Wednesday.

According to police, James Tyler Williams is wanted for escaping from the Mandela Adolescent Treatment Facility, located at 8005 King Helie Blvd. He is also wanted for armed robbery and may be in the company of his girlfriend, 18-year-old Jamecia Lasseter.

Their possible locations include St. Petersburg, Tampa, or Tallahassee and they may be traveling in a gold vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen.

Tampa, FL -- MedExpress Urgent Care is offering free flu shots to children at all locations from Nov. 1 - 14.

All children in grades K through 12 (ages 4 to 18) are eligible.

According to The Center for Disease Control (CDC), a yearly vaccine is the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses. The CDC states young children are more susceptible to the flu and recommends everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine. This year’s vaccine can help prevent against the three main flu viruses (H3N2, Influenza B and H1N1).

Mayor Bob Buckhorn is kicking off the first Mayor's Food Truck Fiesta near Gaslight Park from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The Mayor was so impressed by the food truck rally a few months ago in Hyde Park that attracted thousands of people, he wanted to make it a regular event in downtown.
