Hillsborough County, FL -- This holiday season, parents can transform their children’s winter break blues into excitement by offering children what they crave – fun and engaging activities that will keep their minds and bodies active.

Winter break camp days through the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department will be offered Dec. 28 - 30 from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. at various Hillsborough County recreation centers.

The weekly rate is $38, and reduced rates of $30 and $20 per week are available with a current school reduced or free lunch letter.

Fla. nudist campaign targets European tourists

LAND O'LAKES, Florida (AP) - Pasco County Commissioners are considering whether to spend tourist tax dollars to promote the county as a destination for international nudists.

Commissioners on Tuesday will discuss whether to award a tourism development grant of almost $4,000 to PANDAbare, which stands for Pasco Area Nudist Development Association.

Coalition receives grant from Amscot Financial

The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, Inc. was awarded a grant from Amscot Financial, a leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, as part of their “Just a Dollar” fund-raising campaign, which asked customers to contribute $1 to support local education foundations.

The donation will help the Coalition purchase new and innovative learning materials and toys for the two (2) Mobile Outreach Vans, which lend the materials to more than 300 contracted child care providers in Pasco and Hernando counties.

County Elections Office delivers 470 ballots to overseas voters

Hillsborough County's Supervisor of Elections Earl Lennard announced the delivery of 470 military and overseas Vote By Mail/Absentee Ballots to the post Friday.

Military and overseas voters can request a Vote By Mail Ballot by mail, fax or e-mail. The easiest way to request a Vote By Mail Ballot is to log on to www.VoteHillsborough.org, and click on the Vote By Mail tab at the top.

All registered voters can request, receive and cast a Vote By Mail Ballot.

Over 5,000 Vote-By-Mail ballot requests fullfilled

Pasco County, FL -- If you are looking forward to getting your vote counted you can rest assured knowing thousands of Pasco County ballots are slated to go out in the mail.

According to Brian E. Corley, Supervisor of Elections' office they are scheduled to mail over 5,000 ballots on Tuesday, Dec. 27 for the Jan. 31, 2012 Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) to voters with requests already on file.
